Draft Environmental Impact Statement

After scoping refined the initial proposed action and alternatives, including issues of relevance and significance to the public and stakeholders, a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Draft EIS) was prepared and filed with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  The Army published a Notice of Availability (NOA) in the Federal Register (FR) and in local newspapers near Fort Stewart.  The Draft EIS is available as a PDF by clicking on the links below.

The 45-day comment period began on Friday, April 2, 2010, and will end on Monday, May 17, 2010. At least 15 days into the comment period, a public meeting is held to provide an opportunity for the public, organizations, and regulatory agencies to provide comments on the Draft EIS.
